2 Weeks Later....

2 weeks after my surgery, I finally have all of my stitches removed. My pain is almost gone (along with the swelling) and has now been replaced with a needle like gabbing and tingling feeling. My doctor informed me that this is a normal part of the process. The nerve endings that were damaged during surgery are regrowing and that the tightness and pulling sensation will increase over the next few weeks as I continue to heal.

I am so glad to finally have all of my stitches out so that I can really wash all of my hair. Hopefully next week, I can forgo the ponytail look and wear my hair down again. One of the many concerns now is whether the hair follicles were damaged when they moved my hairline over during surgery. My doctor said that we will be able to tell this in the coming weeks if my hair starts to fall out around the incision site. If this happens, we will wait to see if they will regrow on their own. If not, we can do a hair transplant and tattoo them in and hope that they take in that area.

I am still under my restrictions and still avoiding anything that may cause me to make major facial movements that would result in disrupting the healing of the flaps.

This has definitely been a different experience this time around. I hope and pray that when I go for my next biopsy in 6 months that it will be different than the past and they will have good news for me. Below is a picture taken right after my last few stitches were finally removed. It's ironic that my incision and will be scar forms a "T" and both my boys are "T"'s.
